One of the great things about Kinney Karate is its flexibility in tailoring itself to the individual student. Our training philosophy is that each student is on their own journey. Your path in the martial arts may look very different from another student's, even in the same class. The connection between student and teacher allows for a clear and honest communication of goals and expectations so that progress is continuously made.

Our Instructors
Report
Susan has been training with Kinney Karate since 1988 and is the Head Instructor for the school. She is an 8th degree black belt and master instructor. In 2014, after the death of our founder Soke Kinney, Susan Serota was promoted to 8th Degree Grand Master and given the title "Soke Dai" or inheritor of family.
Memorial Fund
Report
The Soke Kinney Memorial Fund was created to honor the legacy left by our founder, Soke Michael Kinney. It was always his belief that the martial arts should be available to as many people as possible-that barriers to training should always be overcome. Far too often, students have to drop out of classes not because they're not dedicated, but because they simply can't afford it.
