In 1924, our family opened the first Ruck Funeral Home, dedicated to providing caring, compassionate and dignified service to our community. Today, we serve families from three locations in the Baltimore Area. We believe it is not only attention to detail, inviting and comfortable facilities, but also, the personal commitment of four generations of our family and staff to those who call on us to help them, that is our Legacy of Service.

Our experienced professional staff is a part of your community, dedicated to helping you through this difficult time. A funeral is a statement that a death has occurred. With many funeral homes and cemeteries being purchased and managed as part of large corporate franchises, families who choose our Funeral Homes find a welcome difference.

Who We Are
Report
Prior to the founding of our Firm, Leonard J. Ruck worked for the firms of Snowden & McCasland and the George Ruth Funeral Home located on Harford Avenue, where he began his career as a chauffeur. When he married Margaret L. Finnegan in 1918, he moved with her into her mother and step-father's home at 6405 Sefton Avenue, located in the Northeast section of Baltimore City.

Plan Ahead
Report
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Why Plan Ahead
Report
A funeral is an event where people gather together to express their grief for the death of a loved one and to share with and support others who are also experiencing grief.

A funeral provides an organized opportunity for the family and friends of the deceased to acknowledge the loss, to state the important role this person had in their lives, to recognize the loved one's contributions and accomplishments and to prepare for life without the deceased.

Report
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
