Most dojos fall under one of two categories: fight clubs or day care. The School of Martial Arts West LA is different. We offer a third choice: Real Martial Arts, taught well. Our teaching style strikes a balance between tradition and a modern, scientific approach to self defense. Getting in great shape?

That's just a bonus. Our martial classes combine intense total-body workouts with cutting edge self defense. Students work in collaboration, practicing real-life hand to hand combat to instill greater confidence and mindfulness in all aspects of life.

Why We’re Different
Report
We care deeply about the development and growth of all of our students. Here, we practice as partners, not opponents. The whole dojo learns and sweats together. Our adult martial arts class offers philosophies and self defense tactics that can be applied throughout one's life. What makes the School of Martial Arts West LA stand out from other fitness and martial arts disciplines is its breadth of philosophy in both physical and mental wellness.

T’ai Chi

Our Tai Chi class is a slow-moving meditation that encourages full body movement to increase flexibility and balance. Practice brings you back to the breath and keeps you grounded in the moment, which strengthens you in mind and body. Students work one-on-one with Sifu Scott or senior students in each class.
