Walden's Photography
As a second-generation portrait photographer, dad and husband, I believe that family is what matters most. To me, capturing your family's love is the greatest art there is. An internationally renowned family and children portrait photographer, Tim, along with his wife Beverly, live in Lexington and work together to portray the stories of those they photograph.

For over 20 years, Tim has enjoyed creating portraits of families in his state-of-the-art photography studio. Meeting families and capturing precious moments that may never happen again is his goal. A question we are often asked is about the BEST ages to have children photographed. Being a studio that specializes in children and family portraits, we understand the pivotal ages that shouldn't be missed.

At this appointment, we will go over the details for your upcoming portrait as we discuss ideas and make our plans. You will leave this time spent together ready for your session. You left the Visioning and Planning appointment with an idea of the Palette you would like to work in for your color portrait or if you plan to do a Relationship Black and White portrait, you left understanding that palette.

We met in high school and soon after college, we got married. Not long after that, we took over Walden's Photography from Tim's father who was in a wheelchair as he was paralyzed in his early 30s. He was a talented photographer who didn't let tough circumstances define his life. Yes! Demanding excellence?

The money shot! As we traveled through western Ireland with our friends, getting the perfect shot was always the topic at hand. I heard that so many times as I was learning photography from Tim's dad, Bob, especially when showing him the 4 prints I wanted to enter into competition that year. And he was usually right.

As artists, our greatest calling is to share your stories with our photography. Our Black & White portraits are built on celebrating the stories we learn from you and keeping the heart of your relationship at the center of your Walden portrait. Writing a letter to your children to go along with their portrait from Walden's is so rewarding.

The Walden Baroque Color Palette sets the tone for an amazing portrait session. Based on the deep, rich tones of the great painters during this period of art in the 17th century, it exudes beauty and grandeur. The chiaroscuro technique we use refers to the interplay between light and dark that was often used in Baroque paintings to produce a dramatic atmosphere.
