During my fourth year in dental school, I traveled to Guatemala on an externship. We were in a town with lots of children in need of dental care. It was on this trip that I decided I wanted to work with children. Helping these kids get through a difficult experience and ending with a smile on their face was the most rewarding feeling I have experienced.
