First off, Hello! My name is Sarah McDaniel and I am the Owner of Sarah McDaniel Studio! I have been documenting the development of Human Strength since 2018 and let me tell you: I love every second of it! Enabling someone to feel beautiful and comfortable without judgment is a dream come true. Why am I calling this an artist statement?
Well, because I believe the human form is art regardless of the size, history, or trauma it has experienced. Going in to this shoot I was really hesitant. I've been body conscious for years and go through extreme ups and downs of both liking and caring for my body. For the longest time, I was in a low spot, again, and was hesitant about doing something like this for myself and also as a surprise for my partner as well.

I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2017 with two undergrad degrees! One was in Clinical Psychology, focusing on Childhood Trauma and Sexual Assaults'. And the other was in Fine Arts, focusing on Metalsmithing and Sculpture. Both of these degrees have taught me a ton in life, but I have mostly been molded by my own childhood trauma and adult trauma.
