An essential part of maintaining your child's oral health is having regular professional teeth cleaning. Remove plaque and tartar. Plaque is a sticky film containing bacteria that attack tooth enamel, causing cavities and inflaming the gums. Plaque left on teeth over time hardens and becomes calculus (tartar), which can only be removed with dental tools.
Crowns

Baby (primary) teeth are placeholders for the adult teeth, ensuring the adult teeth fit and grow in where they belong. When a primary tooth is decayed or damaged, it may be necessary to put a dental crown on the tooth to keep it in place until the adult tooth comes through. The back teeth need extra protection from chewing.
