Dental Emergency
Report
Knocked out (avulsed) teeth. If one of their teeth has been knocked out, especially a permanent one, it is important that you come in. It is also important to know that we may be able to replant their tooth. If you are able to find the tooth, be careful not to touch the root. Store the tooth in milk until you are able to get your child to the office.
Tooth Extraction
Report
Your child has experienced dental trauma or an infection. When their tooth experiences damage or the interior has become infected, we will do everything possible to save it. In some cases, a crown may be enough, or the tooth may need a root canal. However, there are some instances when neither of these treatments will help.
Special Needs Dental Care
Report
Some medications may cause dry mouth, while others contain extra sugars. Both of these factors turn their mouth into an ideal environment for oral bacteria to thrive. Some children are prescribed a special diet that is high in starches (and other carbohydrates). These can stick to their teeth and make them more prone to dental issues.
Office Policies
Report
We strive to schedule an appropriate time for each patient family that visits Puyallup Pediatric Dentistry, taking into account the individual needs of each child. While we understand that emergencies happen, and it's difficult to plan for the unexpected, it's important that we respect the time of our staff, as well as those patients who may be waiting for an appointment with us.
