Root Canals
At Palo Alto Oral Health, our doctors will examine your tooth and take an x-ray to determine the extent of the infection and damage. They will then administer anesthesia to numb the tooth and place a protective sheet called a "dental dam" to keep your tooth isolated and free from saliva.
We will them make a small opening on the crown to access the inner chamber and use very fine instruments to take out the infected soft tissue from the pulp chambers and root canals.Once the infection is removed, we will shape the cavity and clean it so the infection may not reoccur. We will then fill the space with a putty-like mixture of gutta-percha to seal the root canals.
