Humanitarian Photographer & Fine Artist | Lisa Kristine
As a humanitarian photographer and fine art artist, I have dedicated my career to documenting the innate dignity of individuals across 150+ countries. My work serves as both a visual testament to human resilience and a catalyst for social change, combining artistic excellence with advocacy. Through partnerships with organizations like the United Nations and my Human Thread Foundation, I leverage photography to raise awareness about critical issues such as modern slavery while preserving cultural heritage. My expertise spans three decades of fieldwork, capturing intimate portraits and landscapes that reveal our shared humanity.

Recognized by institutions like the Tate Modern and honored with the Lucie Humanitarian Award, I maintain rigorous artistic standards through meticulous print production. My TED talks and global speaking engagements translate visual narratives into calls for action, inspiring audiences to engage with social justice causes. This work has earned endorsements from thought leaders including Sir Richard Branson and Pope Francis, while my exhibitions at venues like the Vatican create immersive educational experiences.

Humanitarian Photography
Specializing in capturing authentic human stories across 150+ countries, my humanitarian photography documents both cultural heritage and social justice issues. Through intimate portraits and environmental contexts, I reveal the dignity of indigenous communities and expose modern slavery conditions. This work requires deep cultural sensitivity and ethical engagement with subjects, creating visual evidence that drives global awareness and policy change.
Fine Art Photography
Creating museum-quality fine art prints that balance aesthetic excellence with profound human narratives. Each piece undergoes meticulous color calibration to preserve emotional authenticity while maintaining technical perfection. These artworks serve dual purposes as collectible pieces and conversation starters about critical global issues, with sales directly supporting humanitarian initiatives through the Human Thread Foundation.
Speaking Engagements
Delivering impactful presentations that combine visual storytelling with advocacy, I translate photographic work into actionable insights at global conferences and institutions. My talks at TED, UN summits, and the Vatican demonstrate how visual media can drive social change. Each engagement offers audiences a transformative journey through images that reveal our shared humanity while addressing urgent contemporary challenges.
Art Exhibitions
Curating immersive exhibitions that transform photographs into powerful educational experiences. These installations have been featured at the Vatican, World Economic Forum, and MAXXI Museum, creating spaces for reflection and action. Each exhibition is designed to maximize emotional impact while maintaining artistic integrity, often incorporating interactive elements to deepen viewer engagement with the subjects' stories.
Cultural Documentation
Preserving vanishing cultures through comprehensive visual records of indigenous communities worldwide. This work documents traditional practices, rituals, and environments facing extinction from globalization and climate change. The resulting archives serve both anthropological research and cultural preservation efforts, creating permanent records that honor these communities' contributions to human heritage.

My dad and I visited the gallery recently and we were able to meet Lisa Kristine. She was so engaging, humble and friendly. I suppose visiting all of the areas she has been to and witnessing such atrocities in the world would make you a very grounded person. This was my first time coming to the gallery but my father said he comes to this gallery every time he is able to make to Sonoma. Her work as a photographer is amazing but the cause behind it is even greater. Well worth your time visiting if you get a chance.

Beautiful art gallery. I spent some time browsing Lisa Kristine's gallery in February. I loved her art and the description panels for each piece. I was lucky that she was there, so I got to briefly chat with her.She was very kind and down to earth.

As I was walking along the sidewalk in old town Sonoma, I pasted a lot of shops. Many of them were art galleries with art pieces that didn't interest me. But the framed color photo of a soulful content face painted in a gorgeous shade of blue caught my eye. You can say... I made eye contact. I moved in closer to the shop window to get a better look and the next thing I knew I was walking into the gallery. The Lisa Kristine gallery. Who the heck is Lisa Kristine?! I was thinking this to myself because her photos are pieces of art. The walled photos were beautiful. Mesmerizing photos of

Stumbled across this gem while walking the plaza. Lisa is an amazing photographer and has a great eye. I ended up purchasing the Slavery book because I wanted to support her work and the cause. They have specials around Christmas time so keep that in mind. The images she captures are very intricate and captivating so make it a point to stop by here if you're in town.

I had the honor of meeting Lisa Kristine at the Ann Arbor 2016 art festival. I didn't know who she was at the time and was unfamiliar with her work. All I knew was that out of the 400 artists that were there that day; she was my favorite.

Lisa's work to me is a raw and honest reflection of whatever she's photographing at the moment. I love her work and will continue to support her in future projects. What makes her work "art" to me is learning the background information about the picture. If you read what she does to get these shots, it's amazing. Lisa to

The photographs in this gallery are stunning: they are large sized beautiful images that are perfectly framed. I was going to walk back and get S so he could see them. I was impressed. There wasn't anything I wanted to take home. That's not saying that they weren't amazing. I wish I had taken all of them, but there wasn't anything that I had not seen before when I judge at camera clubs. Five stars for the gallery, five stars for the technique that the artist used and her ability to interact with her subjects. However, it is only three stars for the subject matter.
