My name is Jaclyn Hall, and I founded Keys to Counseling as a private psychotherapy practice in the Tampa Bay Area. I specialize in a specific type of therapy called rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). Established by Dr. Albert Ellis in 1955, REBT is a psycho-educational approach to counseling and the pioneering form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
REBT postulates that people tend to feel the way that we think, and that our beliefs, emotions, and behaviors are all deeply intertwined and highly influenced by one another. Therefore, if we change how we think, we will be able to change how we feel, as well as how we behave, and we can begin living emotionally healthier lives.

I earned a Master of Arts degree in Applied Psychology: Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida.
After receiving my graduate degree from NYU, I continued my education by enrolling in clinical practicum trainings at the Albert Ellis Institute where I earned my Primary Certificate in Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as my Advanced Certificate in Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Anxiety never changes an outcome nor does it give you more control over your future. Anxiety does not resolve the challenges that await you, rather it robs you of your inner peace in the present. In order to treat anxiety, I will help you to understand the relationship between your anxiety and your beliefs.
