As we enter the peak season for all the outdoor activities Custer County is known for, the town starts buzz with activity. Westcliffe is the ideal basecamp for hiking, camping, fishing, biking, ATV'ing, or adventures on the river. Our weather is pleasantly warm, but rarely hot. Afternoon showers that sweep over the valley are common from mid-June to mid-August.

Autumn is a spectacular sight to behold here. Shimmering, golden aspen groves light up the valley. And vibrant yellow, orange, and red leaves create brilliant contrast with the surrounding pine trees. Take a hike along the Rainbow Trail and admire some of the best fall foliage in Colorado, just minutes from downtown Westcliffe.
