Hot Shoe Printing and Photography is an artist run printing service that will provide you with high quality printing and scanning services. Working in a calibrated environment, Hot Shoe can provide solutions to your high quality printing needs. With Hot Shoe's professional large format printer, you can create prints of any size with a large selection of papers.
Available papers include luster, matte, glossy, metallic, cotton rag, textured, smooth, and all in a range of weights. Our Canon iPF6450 printer uses archival pigment ink which combined with quality paper, creates a print that will look great for years to come. Image reproduction is also available and Hot Shoe can scan artwork, documents, negatives, and slides.

Services
We offer high quality scanning services and can digitize your photographs, negatives, and slides. Ideal for large batches of images that just need to be digitized and do not require any retouching or color correction - prints or negatives/slides. This will create files that are high enough quality for enlargements.
For every 32GB of data, there will be a $10 charge for the thumb drive storage device (minimum is $10). Prices good for photos that are 8x10 or smaller and slides/negatives that are standard 35mm. Prices are batch prices - if you have other quantities, prices may vary. Please contact us for a quote!
Hot Shoe is a great option for those looking to professionally document or make prints of original artwork. For smaller pieces, we create a high resolution scan of the image and prepare a print ready file. For larger pieces or works on canvas, Hot Shoe can photographically document your work to create a print ready file.
At this time, because we now have a home office, we will only be accepting jobs by appointment. If you have digital files that need to be printed, you can email them or send them via Google Drive or Dropbox. Please include the size and quantity you'd like for each image. I'm happy to take a look at your files and make recommendations on size, paper type, and retouching.
The boon of being a small, artist run business is that Hot Shoe can cater to your specific needs for any project. From retouching to choosing a paper type, you'll work one on one with an individual artist who is a professional artist with a MFA degree in art and experience as a working artist, photographer, college instructor, and framer.

Emily has been so kind with her business. Last year my husband and were looking to print wedding photos a for my parents and this year we wanted to do the same for my in-laws. As a guy, I of course waited until the last minute to get around an anniversary gift for my parents, however Emily was able to make magic happen in a short window! She took a photo I had on my cell phone and enlarged it and also did her magic to even improve the clarity on it. It turned out even better than I had pictured in my head! Emily is a miracle worker! I went to a fedex print store to get a 16x20 printed for a gift for Christmas and they butchered it. Had vertical lines, scratches, and it was rolled up and squished, absolutely horrible.
I googled high quality photos prints in Chicago and Hot Shoe came up as one of the options. I contacted Emily to restore some photos for my mothers birthday present and Emily was so sweet, helpful and prompt with the restorations. She provided me with a hard copy as well as a digital copy of all the pictures she did for me. My mother loved her gift and wants to restore some more pictures with her.

I have tried other digital image printers before but this one stands out! Along with professional, courteous and quick service, Hot Shoe Printing and Photography takes a personal approach to your printing and photography needs. You don't find businesses nor business owners like this very commonly. I highly recommend them for all of your Digital printing and photography needs. I will select no other to take care of the photos of my favorite bones and play areas. I give them four paws up and a huge tail wag!

Do not EVER send your pics to CVS or Walgreens again. This place made my crappy iPhone pics look like they were shot by a pro. Furthermore Emily did it in one day and that day was the Saturday two days before Christmas. Incredible service and an incredible product. Everything about working with Emily vastly exceeded any reasonable expectations.

First of all, how cool is the name, 'Hot Shoe'? Pretty damn cool, is what you're thinking. And you're right to think that. Emily, the owner, is really, really, really good at what she does - and what she does is solve problems. Problems that involve printing and photography.
