Ava Susan Powell is the daughter of Gillis E. Powell, Sr., the founding partner of the firm. She is a native of Crestview, Florida, and graduated from Crestview High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee and her law degree (Juris Doctor) from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, in 1982.

Ginny G. Powell is the youngest daughter of Gillis E. Powell, Jr., and the granddaughter of Gillis E. Powell, Sr. She was raised in Crestview and graduated from Crestview High School with Honors in 1997. A graduate of Florida State University, she earned a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, Cum Laude, in 2001, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Florida State University College of Law in 2005.

Our founding partner, Gillis E. Powell, Sr., was a lifelong resident of Northwest Florida. He grew up in Crestview and had strong ties to Walton County, where he often attended court as a young child with his grandfather, Judge A. R. Campbell. He proudly served his country in North Africa in World War II, achieving the rank of Major.
