Well, I got into dentistry mostly because my father was a dentist. My partner, Dr. Dave, always wanted to be a dentist since he was a little kid. I was not in that category, but I liked the idea of working with my hands. Being my own boss was actually very appealing. Having a group of people that you kind of direct and create something that you liked, and you wanted to pursue, is kind of what appealed to me.

I was always interested in the health care field. After considering different fields when I was younger, I felt dentistry would be really what I wanted to throw my energy and ambition into. I think a lot of it has to do with the ability to have long-term relationships with your patients as opposed to seeing them for an emergency, taking care of them, and never seeing them again.
