In 1975, Chateau of Spain was born from a group of local investors looking to build on the growing Spanish and Portuguese presence in the city. In 1989, Bill Oliveira and Joe Conceicao purchased the restaurant, bringing their past restaurant experience into creating a mainstay of Spanish and Portuguese cuisine in downtown Newark.

From wedding receptions, to office parties, to graduations, and any other special event, Chateau of Spain can cater your event in-house. Our second floor dining hall, which is handicap accessible, fits up to 70 people comfortably, and with the middle wall removed, can fit up to 120 guests. We offer packages for groups of all sizes, from family style to buffet, and have add-on's such as open bar, Venetian Table, and much more.
