Our History

Our namesake was a lover of animals and an advocate of the human animal bond. We are proud to honor her legacy every day as we treat more animals than ever before in our 48 years. DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital was founded in 1973 by Mr. A.B. Lewis, in cooperation with the Portland Veterinary Medical Association, and in memory of Mr. Lewis' late wife, Dove.

Ours is the largest volunteer-run blood bank in the PacNW, and its here to bolster your supplies and respond quickly in a time of need.
