Some children are given nitrous oxide/oxygen, or what you may know as laughing gas, to relax them for their dental treatment. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is given through a small breathing mask which is placed over the child's nose, allowing them to relax, but without putting them to sleep.
Dental Cleanings And Checkups
Report
Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. Dr. Colwick has two years specialty training following dental school and is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Pediatric dentists are primary and specialty oral care providers for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health needs.
Sealants
Report
Sealants protect the grooved and pitted surfaces of the teeth, especially the chewing surfaces of back teeth where most cavities in children are found. Made of clear or shaded plastic, sealants are applied to the teeth to help keep them cavity free. Even if your child brushes and flosses carefully, it is difficult and sometimes impossible to clean the tiny grooves and pits on certain teeth.
