For small nonprofits with limited staff, being fiscally sponsored by Mission Edge can be a smart decision. I especially like that they handle all of our HR concerns and keep up to date with laws in that area so that we do everything properly. You are one step removed from the accounting details though. Thus, if you like to pull custom financial reports on an ad hoc basis, that is something you need to consider. Overall, a good decision especially when getting started or when your staff needs to focus on your mission and not the back office requirements.

Mission Edge provided an excellent City SAIL business accelerator focused on helping social impact businesses in San Diego. We (BrilliantBiome) were part of their virtual cohort and everyone involved were able to minimize the impact of the Coronavirus imposed virtual environment and provided an engaging curriculum, discussions, and community among the entrepreneurs similar to an in person environment.
