I run a small restaurant on Canal Street and our walk-in cooler compressor died on a Friday afternoon before a big weekend. I thought we were going to lose thousands in food. We bought a 1960s ranch house in Lakeview and the ductwork was a disaster - leaking everywhere, covered in mold from years of humidity, and completely undersized for the new system we wanted. I've been using New Orleans Mechanical Pros for our annual maintenance contract for three years now. They come out twice a year - spring and fall - clean the coils, check refrigerant levels, inspect the electrical, and give me a written report. Last spring they caught a cracked heat exchanger before it became a carbon monoxide issue. That alone is worth the cost of the contract ten times over. Honest, thorough, and always on time.

Our 1890s Creole cottage in the Marigny has quirky ductwork from three different renovation eras. Every HVAC company we called said it was too complicated or quoted us astronomical prices. New Orleans Mechanical Pros actually came out, spent an hour assessing the situation, and came up with a creative solution using a combination of mini-splits and a small ducted system for the back rooms. Good experience overall. They were on time, diagnosed the problem quickly (bad blower motor), and had the part available. The repair took about 90 minutes. My only minor complaint is that they were a bit hard to reach by phone initially - had to leave a voicemail. But once they called back, everything went smoothly. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. Would use again.

I called about a strange smell coming from my vents turned out to be a dead animal in the ductwork (not uncommon in older NOLA homes). The technician handled it professionally, sanitized the affected duct section, and did a full duct inspection while he was at it. He found two significant leaks that were costing me money every month. The duct sealing paid for itself within a few billing cycles. Very thorough and no judgment about the critter situation!
