Empowering You To Live Fully
Healing Quest Counselling
From our office in Maple Ridge, Healing Quest Counselling delivers trauma-informed therapeutic services to individuals both in person and virtually across British Columbia. As a practice guided by Registered Clinical Social Worker Kirsten Boulier, we centre our work on supporting adults experiencing trauma-related difficulties, anxiety, burnout, dissociation, ADHD, grief, and attachment-based patterns. Our aim is to offer a steady and informed therapeutic space where complex emotional experiences can be addressed with clarity and respect.

Our methodology draws upon EMDR, somatic therapy, parts-informed frameworks such as IFS and DNMS, and the use of expressive arts. We recognize that healing extends beyond intellectual awareness; therefore, we attend to the ways stress and trauma influence bodily responses, focus, and interpersonal connections. Individuals frequently approach us when coping with high-functioning anxiety, chronic accommodation of others needs, trauma-related immobilization, or a diminished sense of self. We structure therapy as a cooperative process, progressing at a deliberate pace and grounded in an understanding of nervous system functioning. Appointments are available at our Maple Ridge office, with virtual sessions accessible throughout the province.

Services
At Healing Quest Counselling, we approach trauma therapy with careful pacing and a focus on restoring balance within the nervous system. Trauma can arise from prolonged relational stress, emotional neglect, medical challenges, or inherited survival patterns. When left unresolved, these experiences may sustain hypervigilance, shame, or disconnection. Our integrative methodsincluding somatic therapy, EMDR, and parts-based workpromote regulation and integration, allowing deeper healing only when sufficient stability and internal resources are established.
Anxiety often presents in subtle yet impactful ways, including irritability, difficulty relaxing, intrusive worries, or avoidance of overwhelming situations. We work collaboratively to understand your unique patterns without assuming a single cause. By integrating EMDR, somatic awareness, parts work, and attachment-informed counselling, we guide your system toward renewed stability and flexibility.
We understand that living with ADHD can be discouraging and overwhelming, particularly after years of being told to simply try harder. Challenges with focus, task initiation, emotional regulation, and follow-through often lead to stress and self-criticism. In therapy, we help you understand your nervous system and reduce accumulated shame. Our work supports practical strategies that honour your strengths and foster steadier self-trust.
Grief can arise from bereavement, relational endings, health concerns, or the loss of a hoped-for future, and each experience is deeply personal. When the pain remains unintegrated or becomes entangled with trauma responses, daily life can feel heavy and repetitive. We offer a therapeutic space that supports stabilization, careful processing, and exploration of relational bonds. Our goal is to help you carry your loss with greater steadiness rather than feeling immobilized by it.
For many individuals, dissociation once served as necessary protection during overwhelming circumstances. Over time, however, it may interfere with memory, connection, and a consistent sense of self. Our approach centres on stabilization, present-day safety, and parts-informed exploration where appropriate. We proceed thoughtfully, encouraging internal communication and resilience while allowing change to unfold gradually.
At Healing Quest Counselling, we support individuals navigating the weight of depression, which can affect energy, focus, and connection. Depression is not a lack of effort but often reflects a nervous system that has shifted into shutdown after prolonged stress or overwhelm. We integrate EMDR, somatic awareness, parts work, and attachment-informed approaches to foster regulation and healing. Our work emphasizes understanding patterns, gently rebuilding capacity, and reducing shame. We also encourage appropriate medical assessment when needed, recognizing that recovery is not one size fits all.
Experiencing overwhelm in tasks that once felt manageable may signal burnout rooted in sustained pressure. We guide clients in recognizing how prolonged stress affects emotional regulation, attention, and energy. Our counselling emphasizes boundary development, nervous system support, and thoughtful reorganization of commitments. Through consistent therapeutic work, we foster resilience and sustainable capacity.

I bring exploratory curiosity to my trauma therapy practice and absolutely love getting to know clients through their own lens. Every person has a unique story to tell, and learning about each clients resiliency and lived experience is a privilege I deeply respect.

I provide trauma therapy services to youth and adults across BC (online) and see clients in-person in Maple Ridge, BC. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies. I believe that healing is possible - and that it can happen at a safe, steady pace.
