Since the early 1990s, the Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts has been serving the St. Tammany Parish community through its Mandeville Campus, which is one of three locations. Violin instruction at LAAPA is designed for students aged five to adults, offering flexible lesson lengths and styles. The instruction is tailored to accommodate learners of various ages and skill levels, with a focus on meeting individual needs. Whether you are interested in classical, bluegrass, or jazz music, the instructors adjust their teaching to match your learning pace and goals. Additional enrichment labs are provided to supplement the learning experience and promote a sense of community among students. Lessons can be taken either on campus or online, allowing students to choose the format that best fits their schedule and preferences. 
Students in our drum program get instruction from experts on the basics and advanced methods of percussion, with lessons that can be adjusted to fit their individual musical tastes. We teach many different styles, including rock, jazz, Latin, and pop. Our enrichment labs offer students a chance to learn together in areas such as music theory, drama, and songwriting, and this is included at no extra cost. 
We offer personalized piano lessons in a professional environment that fosters confidence and creativity. Our highly qualified instructors provide customized weekly instruction across various genres. With a focus on communication and a passion for teaching, students acquire more than just technique - they develop a lasting understanding of music. We offer thorough ballet training for children, teens, and adults, focusing on classical technique, posture, and creative expression. Our progressive levels, ranging from pre-ballet to Ballet III, develop technical proficiency and performance abilities. Our classes are led by faculty members trained at the university level, who specialize in providing safe and effective ballet instruction. Flexible scheduling options and year-round enrollment are available, with classes held both online and on campus. 
Our acting courses combine foundational technique with opportunities for public performance. From beginners to advanced students, every actor is coached to find their voice and take creative risks. With training in methods like Meisner and Stanislavski, our program supports artistic development. Audition-based advanced classes prepare serious students for college-level drama and theatrical leadership roles. 
We offer a comprehensive Musical Theater education, including specialized training in vocal performance and dance technique. Our classes focus on collaboration, imagination, and personal development, covering a range of classic and modern musical theater works. Our enrollment is limited to guarantee individualized attention for each student, and students frequently demonstrate their skills in fully staged mainstage productions.

LAAPA offers fantastic programs for musicians of all ages. My son's guitar teacher, Sean Fullon, has been instrumental in our child's development. He does a fantastic job of blending music theory and technical skills with popular and classical music. I would highly recommend both LAAPA and Sean if your child wants become a skilled guitarist (and have some fun along the way).

Dr. Vera has been my piano teacher for about eight years now and she is the sweetest, most understanding teacher Ive had! She always helps me with my music sheets when Im struggling, and shes very patient when I try to fix my mistakes. I really like her suggestions for potential songs to learn. We love Mandeville School of Music. My daughter adores her teacher Mrs Rebecca. They play duets & she makes learning music fun & interactive & rewards them with tickets they can redeem for a treat from a treasure box.
