Cowtown Powersports was established in 1982, but the story begins ten years earlier. In 1973, Dennis Niles and Kenneth Smith opened their first motorcycle dealership. After steady success, they decided to go BIG and build their own dealership. They broke ground in 1981 and opened their new dealership's doors a year later.
The founders wanted the dealership name to possess local significance so they called their new dealership Cowtown Yamaha and Longhorn Honda. Three years later the Honda store separated and the 4808 S.E Loop 820 location officially became known as Cowtown Powersports in 1987. To date, the Niles family has maintained ownership for 33 years.
