The iPad 2nd 3rd and 4th generation are comprised of two parts in regards to the screen. The first part is the top layer which is called the digitizer. This is the part that frequently breaks when you drop your tablet. The digitizer and the glass are fused together. The second layer of the iPad is the LCD display.

Your iPhone has a removable lithium ion battery that has a set lifespan. After a few years of use the iPhone battery does not hold the same battery capacity as it once did. On any new iPhone, you can check the battery health under Settings > General > Battery > Battery health. This will tell you the remaining lifespan on the battery.
