A native of Portland, Oregon, Bob spent twenty years in the U.S. Coast Guard gaining much of his construction knowledge as well as specializing in marine environmental protection. After returning to civilian life, he studied for and passed the test to become a licensed general contractor.

1000 ft or less of material being removed requires three (3) samples of each different surfacing material. 1000 ft - 5000 ft of material being removed requires five (5) samples of each different surfacing material. Various compounds: window glazing, adhesives, caulks, patching, mastics, vapor barrier products (plastic or synthetic materials such as Tyvek are exempt).
