Madison Park Tree
Mark Herkert, certified arborist, helps you and your trees get along by balancing your goals with the long-term health of your trees. Our tree service has been in business for 20 years, with hundreds of satisfied customers around Seattle. We are on the City of Seattle's recommended list of tree companies, and are referred by Plant Amnesty and City Peoples Garden Design.

Mark has been a certified arborist since 2000. He performs or supervises all tree work, unlike many tree services who only have an arborist "on staff". The right tree for the right location is better than trying to fit a round peg in a square hole.
Services
Pruning
Report
Shaping: cutting back new growth from vines and hedges to keep them from overwhelming your yard. Restoration: thinning overgrown fruit trees and other previously topped trees to restore their form (winter pruning). Aesthetics: thinning dense (miniature japanese maples) and vigorous (purple leaf plums) trees.
Removal
Report
We remove small to medium size trees, generally anything less than 2.5' at the base. If you are unsure about the size call us and we'll be happy to let you know if we can remove your tree. We can also offer pruning options which may still achieve your goals while preserving your trees and saving you money.
Mulch
Report
We can deliver 5-6 cubic yards of mulch to Capitol Hill, Madison Park, Madrona, Leschi, Mt Baker, and University District for $225 + tax. The price is the same for a 1/2 or full load. Mulch is anything that goes thru the chipper - a mix of leafy green material and woody parts. It is best suited as a top dressing over beds.
Cabling
Report
The point at which multiple trunks come together to form 1 trunk can sometimes be structurally weak, leaving your tree prone to splitting apart. Cabling is a cost effective method to mitigating this hazard. We use the Cobra cabling system, which does not require holes drilled into the trunk unlike other cabling systems.
Fruit Tree Pruning
Report
The key to fruit trees is knowing what you want. If fruit is a priority then your tree will require annual pruning to ensure good fruit production and accessibility. If you are more interested in having a nice looking healthy tree with fruit being secondary, then the tree will not require much pruning.
