Kasten earned her bachelors of science in Exercise Physiology from Georgia State University in 2015 at the top of her graduating class. She was a member of her major's club, M.U.S.C.L.E.S., which promotes active and healthy lifestyles on and around campus. In early 2015, she was picked to assist with the Atlanta Beltline research project alongside two of her professors.

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring compound that is found throughout the human body (for example, skin, eye fluid, placental fluid and joint fluid). HA normally occurs in long chains in the joint fluid providing viscosity (lubrication) to the joint.
