The Tender Gardener, established in 2020, offers quality and specialty indoor houseplants plants, homegrown flowers and custom indoor and outdoor plant design. We believe that beauty and tenderness enriches lives and that there is a plant or flower for everyone to enjoy. An artist and plant enthusiast, Lana Williams first used the name, The Tender Gardener, for one of her painting exhibitions in San Francisco.
The paintings were inspired by working in her garden and tending to her indoor jungle. Her passion for plants and flowers runs deep. Her grandmother owned a flower shop and always had a house full of plants. Now Lana is carrying on her family tradition and passion for plants and flowers and wants to share that with you.

All available plants online are up to date and change frequently, so check back often!

Book a 20 minute appointment to shop in person at The Tender Gardener Greenhouse. With multiple restocks each week, the greenhouse is always lush. Take the time to breathe in the fresh air and get personalized assistance in finding the best plants for your space. We recommend booking in advance but you are always welcome to call to see if we are available.

Delivery windows are selected at checkout. Processing time varies, but orders will typically be fulfilled within a week, on the next delivery day for their area. San Francisco delivery is every Thursday, between 9:00am and 1:00pm. Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Emeryville, and Alameda delivery is every Friday, between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
