Founded in 1984, Do Re Mi School of the Arts has dedicated 42 years to nurturing confidence and creativity in children through performing arts. Our program, originally established by Kay Randolph and Polly Chapman, now operates under the leadership of Lindsey and Michael Calvoni, both former students with extensive professional training. We specialize in show choir, musical theatre, and dance instruction for children aged 4 through high school, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Our curriculum combines technical skill development with character-building experiences, preparing students for lifelong success. With over 13,419 students taught and 42 original productions staged, we maintain a safe, inclusive environment where every child contributes to group achievements.Our approach integrates cognitive development, social skills, and artistic excellence, aligning with educational research on the benefits of arts education. Show Choir
Our show choir program combines vocal training with choreographed dance performances. Students progress through skill-based levels from kindergarten through high school. Each semester culminates in a professional theater production with full costumes and staging.
Musical Theatre
Musical theatre classes teach acting, singing, and dancing through full production rehearsals. Programs include age-specific casts with rotating roles to emphasize teamwork and dedication. Advanced students perform in multi-act productions with complex staging.
Just Dance!
This dance program offers genre-specific instruction for children aged 4 through 8th grade. Classes focus on creative expression and performance skills. Participants showcase their progress in annual theater performances with professional production elements.
Summer Camp
Our summer camp provides intensive performing arts training through specialized workshops. Students develop skills in singing, dancing, and acting while preparing for end-of-season showcases. The program maintains small class sizes for personalized instruction.
12 Hour Musical
This advanced program challenges high school students with extended rehearsal periods for complex productions. Participants gain experience in professional-grade performances through an immersive, time-intensive format. The course emphasizes technical precision and stagecraft mastery.

Michael Calvoni

BFA in Musical Theatre from University of Arizona, professional jazz vocalist, voiceover artist, and former New York performer with extensive puppetry and commercial acting experience.

What age groups do you serve?
We offer programs for children ages 4 through high school with age-specific class divisions.
Where are classes held?
Classes take place at Mountain View Church, 8050 E. Mountain View Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85258.
What performance opportunities exist?
All students participate in semester-ending productions at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts with full staging and costumes.
How are roles assigned in productions?
Roles are double-cast based on age, talent, and dedication to teach teamwork and equal contribution.
What fees apply?
Semester fees range from $200–$375 with additional $65 recital fees for most classes.
Who teaches the classes?
Classes are led by university-trained professionals and experienced alumni with industry expertise.

WE LOVE Do Re Mi School of the Arts. Our girls have all participated and have had an incredible experience. They get to explore singing and acting in a fabulous, inclusive environment. They give the kids a great opportunity to participate in different roles and explore the different aspects of being in a play or musical. The owners are such amazing people and we are grateful to have them lead our kids at Do Re Mi. HIGHLY RECOMEND - it is an incredible place to be.

The Do Re Mi school of the arts put on a wonderful summer camp. They take kids from the beginning of production to the end so kids can learn the entire process. Our son really enjoyed, there was before and after care available. The best part was the production in this case Oliver. It was super cute and entertaining! Highly recommend!

My daughter was nervous to start camp with a new group of people and everyone at Do Re Mi was so welcoming and made her feel right at home. Its all she talks about now and keeps asking me to sign her up again!

Both of my daughters participated in the Do Re Mi Fine Arts Camp this summer & had the best time! Whenever I would pick them up they didn't want to leave! I could tell they were learning new skills, building friendships and having a ton of fun. The performance(s) at the end of camp are the icing on the cake- so happy I chose a camp where I could see at the end everything they had been working on throughout the 3 weeks of camp. They both had wonderful things to say about Lindsey & Michael and the camp counselors. Highly recommend Do Re Mi School of the Arts!

A friend recommended this program so we decided to give it a try. My child attended the summer theater camp and it was so above and beyond my expectations- seriously impressive with the positive energy, fun, and extras they planned. The owners are just the kindest people. My daughter cant wait to be back in the Fall.
