Services
Sports Medicine
Our sports medicine physicians diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries for athletes and active individuals. We specialize in non-surgical treatments including diagnostic ultrasound, regenerative medicine, and performance optimization. The service addresses acute injuries, chronic pain, and preventive care through personalized treatment plans that combine physical therapy, biomechanical analysis, and return-to-activity protocols. Patients receive comprehensive care from board-certified specialists with experience treating professional athletes and recreational sports participants.
Shockwave Therapy
This non-invasive therapy uses acoustic waves to accelerate healing for chronic musculoskeletal conditions. We employ shockwave therapy to treat plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and sports injuries by stimulating blood flow and tissue regeneration. The treatment breaks down scar tissue, reduces pain signals, and promotes collagen production without requiring downtime. Patients typically experience improvement after 3-5 sessions, making it an effective alternative to surgery for many musculoskeletal conditions affecting joints, tendons, and soft tissues.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapy program focuses on restoring mobility and reducing pain through manual therapy and targeted exercises. Licensed therapists create individualized rehabilitation plans addressing post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic conditions. Treatment incorporates soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilizations, and functional movement training to improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. The service emphasizes patient education to prevent reinjury and maintain long-term musculoskeletal health through evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
Chiropractic Care
Our chiropractors provide non-pharmacological treatment for neuromusculoskeletal conditions through spinal adjustments and manual therapies. This service addresses back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries using techniques like instrument-assisted adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and posture correction. Treatment plans incorporate rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle recommendations to improve nervous system function and overall mobility. The approach emphasizes whole-body wellness while focusing on musculoskeletal system optimization without surgical intervention.
Athletic Training
Certified athletic trainers deliver injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation services for active individuals. This program combines musculoskeletal assessments, functional performance testing, and manual therapies to address acute injuries and chronic conditions. Services include gait analysis, injury mitigation strategies, and performance enhancement training tailored to individual sports or activities. The team works collaboratively with physicians to ensure comprehensive care for athletes at all levels, focusing on safe return-to-play protocols and long-term injury prevention.

I visited dr. jow for shockwave therapy after suffering an injury that caused my lumbar spine to straighten and an annular bulge in my lumbar spine. before my injury i was very active and always in the gym. afterwards i couldn't sit, lie down, or stand for more than a half hour without being in severe pain. i would take aleve and muscle relaxers throughout the day just to get by.
after just the first shockwave treatment with dr. jow the pain was 80% gone. i was able to sit on a five hour flight the next day with no issues. unless i arched my back, there was no pain at all. i was so happy

Having just moved to the Bay Area from Boston, I did not have any expectations when meeting Julieta for physical therapy. I have seen world renowned physicians and physical therapists and can honestly say the service she offered was unparalleled. I would comply with my daily exercises and have seen remarkable improvements over the course 4 months. Her knowledge and bedside manners really motivated me to keep working on getting better.

I have been experiencing severe knee arthritis for 2 years now which onset very rapidly from sports injuries. As a very active person I've been trying everything, dozens of doctors visits, physical therapy appointments, multiple stem cell treatments, and cortisone injections. Recently I reached out to Avid Sports Medicine for shockwave therapy. This was by far the most productive therapy I've had to date, with noticeable differences after only a couple appointments. Their physical therapy sessions with Julietta were also very productive. I can't recommend Avid enough, and appreciate

Dr. Jow is fantastic!!! I had a serious and chronic injury, and contacted her to get her perspective, and she could not have been more kind, helpful, and attentive. Before I even scheduled an appointment with her, she went back and forth with me over email, trying to help me strategize and sort out how to solve my issues. I was a mess! But she always responded so graciously and compassionately, and with such a focused expertise. Her office and staff were so well organized, and when Dr. Jow meets with you, you feel absolutely like the most important person in the world. She takes her time to learn

Dr. Jow and the team at Avid are incredible. Not only are they super accommodating - I've been able to schedule and reschedule appointments on short notice, and one time when I showed up on the wrong DAY Dr. Jow still managed to see me! But they also give attentive, knowledgeable, tailored care that really works. I've had more progress with them in the last six months than with the dozens of chiropractors, physical therapists, and orthopedic surgeons I've seen for my chronic back pain in the last six years. Can't recommend enough.
