Founded over 30 years ago with a focus on education and certification, J&R Tile has grown to become one of the most respected and credentialed commercial tile contractors in the U.S. There's always something else to learn! That's what John Kotara, along with his brother Raymond, told themselves when they founded J&R Tile, Inc. over 30 years ago.
John was, and remains, convinced that a tile installation company should know how to handle all types of tile, marble, granite, and pavers. In addition, John believes all installers should work to continuously develop new and creative ideas to solve problems. With John's philosophy setting the course, Erin Albrecht has taken the lead on continuing J&R's focus of educating our staff and the industry.

The Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) provides education and installer certification for professionals working in the ceramic tile and stone industry. The CTEF Certified Tile Installer (CTI) program is the only third-party assessment of installer skill and knowledge which is recognized by the tile industry.

5+ years of tile experience as foreman/lead (Large Gauged Porcelain Tile/Kerdi&Wedi/self-leveling/membranes/mud floors and walls/large format/lippage control systems experience a plus). At J&R Tile, we only promote from within. All our setters and installers began as an apprentice and become eligible for promotion to installer once they complete the certification process of becoming a CTI.
