Prospect Riding Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization on 10 beautiful acres of ranch land in Myakka City, Florida. We offer both therapeutic and recreational horseback riding and activities. All of the proceeds from our recreational riding go to support our therapy riding program. Our mission is to help individuals with special needs overcome physical, developmental, and psychological challenges through equine-assisted therapy.
Our highly trained instructors provide a nurturing and safe environment for our clients to advance their physical, emotional, and social growth. Learning to care for the horses is a big part of the therapy. All ten of therapy animals in our herd are retired and gentle. We strive to improve their quality of life as they age by ensuring they get as much from our programs as our riders.

Our instructors and volunteers consistently provide a warm, nurturing and safe environment to our clientele to help them grow physically, emotionally and socially.
Client Eligibility

Prospect Riding Center will make every effort to meet the needs of all clients who apply - whether for therapeutic or recreational riding. However, the nature of these activities includes limitations, precautions and occasionally contraindications. Inability to schedule riding time to coincide with an individual's school or work schedule.

Recreational Riding

We offer recreational trail riding and lessons for every age and ability level. Our safe and nurturing environment is perfect for beginners to try horseback riding for the first time or to get reacquainted with horses if it's been a while since your last ride. Take a ride together! We offer group rides perfect for birthday parties, team building activities, girl scout and boy scout troop events, family reunions, and more.
