We believe that the prettiest of all Grenache comes from old vines grown in sandy soils. In sand the colors are lighter (& who cares, you neither taste nor smell color) & the wine develops all of the beautiful, floral, high-toned. The Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced purely from our five preferred clones on the estate.

Since the early days of the winery, Don Vicente crafted this wine exclusively for his family, from the best that can be grown in the Curico' Valley. The 2017 Red Blend Clos Apalta is a blend of grapes from Apalta: 48% Carmenere, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, aged in new and used French barrels in an 85/15 split.

Two brothers, Alessandro and Gian Natale Fantino, run this family estate in Monforte d'Alba. Alessandro managed the vineyards and served as the enologist at Cantina Bartolo Mascarello for 20 years, from 1978 to 1997. The COMET wines are the result of innovation and experimentation, drawing inspiration from The COMETS of the universe.
