Dogs have access to the outdoors for most of the day. Each outdoor run has a concrete patio and an area filled with fresh red cedar shavings for a clean place to potty and enjoy the fresh air. We have runs with top panels for the escape artists as well as privacy panels. The dogs at Summit Kennels are offered a variety of enriching activities.

Training for boarding dogs is available free of charge. Typical training includes working on leash manners, sits, and downs. Depending on the length of your dog's stay this may only be an introductory experience or a strengthening and generalization of existing skills. I will work with you to ensure whatever training you have already done with your dog is preserved during their stay.

Custom Leashes

I've been making my own leashes for years. As a Schutzhund trainer, I use different leashes for different training exercises: sometimes I need a long one for tracking and sometimes I need a short one for obedience. Sometimes I need both at the same time for protection training. I use leashes that range from one foot all the way up to 33 feet in length and several sizes in between.

Proof of Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHPP), and Bordatella vaccinations are required and must remain current. Titers are an acceptable proof of vaccines except Bordatella. While we don't require Canine Influenza vaccine, we strongly recommend it as it is also a cause of canine cough (aka kennel cough).
