Camp Winnarainbow is a premier Northern California circus and performing arts summer camp that invites your camper to "run away with the circus!" Additionally we are committed to being a socially conscious program with amazing teaching artists and campers from every walk of life. That is why it's important that we create an inclusive, accepting environment.

Winnarainbow is a socially minded, justice focused organization founded by Hippy Icon, Flower Geezer, Poet, Activist Wavy Gravy in 1975. Wavy was later joined by his wife Jahanara, who has been a very important part of creating who we are as a Camp Winnarainbow community.
Utilizing all the ideals and teachings they learned through traveling the world, being a part of their Hog Farm community, and their devotion to "do something good for a change", the philosophies and values of Camp Winnarainbow were created.Through the years our culture and traditions have been created from the inspiration and ingenuity of the staff and campers who have become the Winnarainbow community.

For over 40 years, kids, teens and adults have run away to join our circus in beautiful Mendocino County. Drawing from our knowledge of the Arts as well as how to build strong community, our well trained staff teaches timing, balance and as Wavy Gravy says, Survival in the 21st century or how to duck with a sense of humor and a dollop of compassion.

Jahanara has worked hard for over 40 years in screening and hiring all of our staff every summer. In her mentorship and training of me she emphasized "we are taking care of other people's children and that is a very big responsibiilty and honor". Sending your camper to live with us for 2 weeks is a big decision for families.

Winnarainbow Kids Camp is a unique overnight camp for kids ages 7 - 14 that provides a multitude of activities focused on the Arts as well as time in Nature, creating community and having BIG FUN. Check out our Teen Leadership Program for youth ages 15 - 17! When kids come to Winnarainbow they are given the chance to follow their hearts and choose their adventure.

There's a lot of work to do right now on this planet to support our generations. For over 20 years one of our main goals in our youth leadership program has been to ensure that our youth leaders have a relevant, fun, experiential and creative environment to gain and practice the skills they need in this complex world.
