Ocean Moon Sangha is a non-profit organization that relies on the contributions of participants to continue offering our ongoing schedule. We were founded in 2004 by our teacher Sensei John Daishin Buksbazen. We are a group of dedicated Zen Practitioners who meet every Wednesday for zazen (sitting meditation). All are welcome to join us and learn more about meditation practice.

Zen
Report
What is Zen? We can speak of Zen Buddhism from a historical perspective. It began over 2500 years ago in India with Siddhartha Gautama, also known as Shakyamuni Buddha. The teachings of the Buddha have been passed down from teacher to student over that time in what some call a warm hand to warm hand lineage.

Membership is an opportunity to express your commitment to practice and your support to help others practice. Ocean Moon Sangha relies on donations from the Sangha and the greater community to continue offering weekly zazen and zazen instruction as well as other practice activities. Our suggested annual contribution is $600/year which includes weekly zazen, monthly Dharma/Practice talk and quarterly zazenkai.
