Stand up Paddle Boarding began in Hawaii in the mid-1900's and soon became commercialized by Hawaiian Surf Schools in the 1990s.

As much as we'd love to offer surf lessons in Santa Barbara year round it is simply unrealistic. Due to the Channel Islands and Santa Barbara's unique south-facing topography it is rare that Santa Barbara will get surf-able waves. Because Santa Barbara can often times look more like a lake than an ocean with waves, we'll teach many surf lessons in Ventura.

Our most common surfboard rental in the summer when the waves are smaller are our 9'0 surftech softtop boards; it's a fun board that catches a lot of waves.If you don't see the surfboard rental you're looking for on our website contact us as we have some boards that aren't listed. We do daily (24 hour) rentals for a surfboard and a wetsuit for just $45 as well as multi-week rentals.
