I think I can safely say, the best part of 2020 for me was meeting Dr. Tong and using her consultation services for not one, but two trips to Montana across a 6 month time frame. Due to the pandemic we were not able to take an actual tour with her, but we paid for a consultation where she went over - in detail - things for us to do based on what we wanted to experience.

Safari on the National Bison Range

The National Bison Range is only an hour's drive from Missoula and the perfect place to see most of the large Montanan mammals like bison, pronghorn, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, and if you're lucky, bears.
Just south of Flathead Lake and overlooking the jagged peaks of the Mission Mountains, it is also the perfect place for a day-trip with excursions to nearby wildfowl refuges, waterfalls, ranches, or local bakeries and restaurants selling regional beers, bison burgers, huckleberry shakes or homemade ice cream and doughnuts.In the summer, we could stop by at a rodeo in the evening.

Floating the Flathead River

On a hot summer's day, there's nothing better than sitting in a river with a cold drink while floating past beautiful scenery. We often see beaver and herons, birds of prey like bald eagles and osprey, and sometimes even bears or moose on the river banks. Floats on the flathead can be combined with a visit to the nearby National Bison Range, a ranch, a rodeo or the Ninepipes Wildlife Refuge.
