When you see signs of water in your basement there are multiple approaches to solving the issue. Some are better than others and sometimes it depends on where and how it is getting into your home. Exterior waterproofing is always a great way to resolve water intrusion by excavating out the area where the water in entering your home.
Drain Tile

Hydro-Channel and Hydro-Channel Plus is an interior footing drainage system designed to prevent water seepage from entering the cove area of the basement (area where the floor meets the wall) and allows foundation wall seepage to drain harmlessly beneath the floor and into a drain tile system with a sump pump.
Sump Pumps
Report
Sump pumps are designed to detect when there is water coming up from the ground. For this reason they are installed inside of the sump barrel which is located at the lowest point in the basement. When the sump pump recognizes that there is water rising inside the barrel, it begins to pump water out of the basement.
