Family Piano Academy (FPA) is the spot for piano lessons in Raleigh and the Triangle area. Established in 2007, FPA serves hundreds of families in its studios and in many great after school programs as well.
FPA has two beautiful locations: the main studio at 10940 Raven Ridge Road, Ste 210, Raleigh NC 27614 and a small satellite studio at 1637 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC 27608. Our highly-credentialed staff boasts an assortment of agile, professional educators with years of teaching experience. With over 20 piano teachers, we offer everything from classical, modern, jazz and blues, gospel, pop, songwriting and composition, and more.

Thanks to his parents, Gerry Diamond was introduced to piano through formal lessons at the age of 4. From that young age through high school, Gerry studied eagerly under two highly respected teachers in the Long Island, New York area in which he was raised. After high school, Gerry continued his studies at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA.
Curriculum

The Diamond Piano Method (DPM) is the curriculum used here at Family Piano Academy. Most Piano methods and teachers can help you learn to read music and play piano with proper technique. The music theory taught through Diamond Piano Method also increases a student's math, literacy, and critical reasoning skills, helping a student in developmental areas outside of music.
Performances

Though highly encouraged, all FPA recitals and other performance opportunities are optional, so a student can shine when they are ready. Public and In-House Recitals - These happen several times throughout the year at various music stores, coffee shops, retirement homes, and other locations including our very own studio.

There is a small traffic circle across from Ace Hardware and next to Tumble Gym. Our suite is in the two-story building that the circle is in front of. This will be the same building as Tanas Hair Designs and Day Spa, Renu Health and Fitness, Nelson Orthodonics, Youthologie, and Karate Kids. After parking, enter the archway next to the traffic circle and you'll find a glass door leading to an elevator.
