Avon Valley Show Stables is a United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Recognized Riding Academy Program acknowledges lesson programs, riding facilities, equestrian schools, and other types of educational equestrian programs. Avon Valley Show Stables is a premium care, full service equestrian facility.
We are located on 30 acres of beautiful grassy fields overlooking the Farmington River. We offer a wide range of services and are dedicated to providing a quality facility for the equine athlete and rider. Avon Valley Show Stables is home to many rated and schooling hunter/jumper shows. Our facility offers daily turnout in 20 individual paddocks.

We offer a quality selection of hunters, jumpers, equitation horses, and ponies in all price ranges. We also make frequent trips to Europe for your horse needs. Scroll down to see our offerings for Hunter/Equitation, Ponies and Jumpers. Good horses and ponies are accepted on consignment. We have an experienced staff to groom, exercise and train, and present your Hunter, Jumper or Equitation horse properly to the buyer.

With options for the serious competitor to the casual rider, AVSS offers quality English Hunt Seat riding instruction for riders of all ages, beginner through advanced. Our outdoor 150' x 200' sand arena and large 80' x 200' brightly lit indoor arena with custom leather footing allow for year 'round all weather riding.
IEA Riding Teams

Avon Valley Show Stables is proud to host successful Middle school (grades 4-8) and Upper school (grades 9-12) Interscholastic Equestrian Association riding teams. You don't need to own your own horse to participate! Riders travel to an IEA host barn, where a horse, which they have never ridden, is assigned, and show this animal to the best of their ability with minimal to no practice on that horse!

Avon Valley Show Stables offers quality Hunt Seat riding instruction for riders of all ages and levels. From beginners getting their first leg up, to accomplished riders looking to improve their skills, the AVSS Programs has options for everyone. The Morning Session, for horse enthusiasts 7- 15 years old, runs Mon - Fri. from 9 am - 1 pm.

Avon Valley Show Stables is a premium care facility. Our main barn consists of 32 fully matted stalls to accommodate various sized horses and ponies. We have a large heated boarder's tack room with large windows looking into the indoor arena as well as an upstairs furnished viewing lounge. In addition there is an updated bathroom with shower facilities and a kitchenette area.
