Carlos Aguilar graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of North Texas. First prize winner of Ricordi "Panhuehuetl" Competition in 1984. Twice Winner of the Cecil Wallace and Joan Berding Award 1986-87 in Dallas. Completed studies in Texas under Christopher McGuire and Tom Johnson. Participated in master classes with Baltazar Benitez, Eduardo Fernandez, Fernando Fernandez, Adam Holzman, and other renowned international virtuosos.
