I have been working in the dental field for more than 14 years as a dental assistant. Graduated from S.F & San Jose Dental Tech College in 2002, I have always loved my job and tried my best to make it a pleasant and smooth experience for my doctors and patients. I started to work in Dr. Tao's office since 2015, and so far it has been an exciting journey.
Best dentist - highly recommend. I needed an emergency root canal and Dr. Tao and her staff saw me the same day I called - and I was a new patient. Dr. Tao is very knowledgeable and has a great personality! She's very honest and has been taking good care of my teeth, you can tell that she really cares.
Gum disease is the result of the prolonged accumulation of bacteria, plaque, and tartar. The severity of gum disease can range from minor symptoms to excessive inflammation of the gum leading to conditions such as periodontal disease. A surgical solution can result in a messy situation, hence, we recommend getting your gums treated permanently with the help of a laser solution.
Implants are an excellent solution to replace a missing tooth. But, just like a natural tooth can get infected due to poor oral hygiene or other reasons, implants can also get infected. The infection around an implant is called peri-implantitis. This is the main cause for the failure of implants. The traditional solution to this is extracting the implant and installing another one in its place, which could prove to be very expensive.
In the past (and still in many dental offices today), getting a crown or other dental restoration was quite a process. Your first visit would include taking traditional impressions (holding messy, nasty goop in your mouth) which would then be sent to an off-site dental lab for your restoration to be created.

I was really very impressed by the comprehensive services I received on my first round of visits to Tao Dental Care. The clinic is a very nice, cozy and clean place outfitted with high-tech equipment and facilities. The courteous and well-trained staff made me feel completely at home from the moment I entered the clinic. The shield Joanna used for me to take X-ray is a waist-length apron, not the usual cape over the shoulders, which made me feel exceedingly safe and well taken care of. My family were recommended to choose Dr. Yuan Tao as our dentist two years ago. We still do.
They are nice and usually give you a warm greeting.
They are professional and have helped me with oral problems.

I’ve been to many dentists in my life and can recommend Dr Tao with confidence. Dr Tao is very friendly and highly skilled. She uses cutting edge technology and explains all the planned procedures with care. She doesn’t recommend procedures that aren’t necessary but appears to believe in prevention and educating her patients to have a better dental care. I trust in her opinion and expertise when it comes to my dental care.

The following was based on my family’s experiences in 2014 and 2015 with Yuan Tao dental. Not sure whether things have changed since then. Yuan Tao and her staff were nice to patients. But the things that my wife and I felt very uncomfortable was they were trying to selling us something almost during every visit. They tried to sell us electric toothbrush a few times even after we said no (yes, they were selling electric toothbrush in their office at then). They also sold us ozone oil(I don’t even know what it is today), a small injection needle of the oil(2-3 ml) for 50 dollar and they asked

I can feel that Dr. Tao and team care about patient a lot. They have always explain the procedure, reasons and asking for feedbacks during the dental cleaning. Dr. Tao is a great dentist. Around 4 years ago I had an infection on my front incisors that needed a root canal immediately. Dr. Tao took care of it on the same day. To this day, I never had any issue with the filling or saw any discoloration. Also, she was extremely understanding of my financial restriction. At the time, I did not have insurance and she offered a very manageable price.

I didn't have a good experience with my previous dentist , so I was glad to make a change. Several years ago, one Saturday night, when I ate a sticky rice cake. I terribly swallowed the crown of my one back tooth, it was loose... you know. Luckily, I got an appointment with this dental office. Dr. Tao gave me a quick treatment, also made me a new crown in one and half hours! Thanks for the 3D Camera! The crown looks so real! I went home with a shinning beautiful Ceramic crown just in one visit

I have been coming here for years and Dr. Tao is an amazing dentist! She has extreme attention to detail and does an AMAZING job cleaning my teeth every six months. She always has wonderful recommendations on toothbrushes, has great advice on how to brush my gums and teeth, and has a very friendly staff.

The whole office lacks morals in absolutely despicable way. And since it is a one dentist office. I feel the whole dishonesty was greatly encouraged by the dentist Dr Yuan Tao herself. She looked sincere but she recommended the treatment absolutely unnecessary. I later consulted two other dentists, neither of them said I had cavity. She also recommended a material she said is better. But after I did some research, the brand she recommended was actually cheaper than the other products she used in the office. I am extremely disappointed with Dr. Tao's dishonestly. although she is a professional dentist she has no morals when it comes to charging her patients. when i went to her office,i was told that i need to do 2 simple filing because the cavities weren't too deep so the overall charge would be $355 (each filling about $150+ $55 for x-ray). I told dr. Tao that if it's not an immediate problem, I would rather use my medical coverage at a different clinic, but she changes her word on me and said that should do the filling ASAP and that she would give me a discount. anyways, i decided

Dr. Tao and Karla are incredible! They have worked on me every visit, and continue to deliver extraordinary results. My visit today she did some composite work to fill the gaps in my front teeth. Dr. Tao provides excellent service and care to her patients. Everyone at the clinic is super friendly and respectful. The facility has the newest equipments and the latest dental tech. I am also extremely pleased with their hygienist, Haleh. She is so good with her patients. I feel like each one of teeth are getting the best care. I went there a while ago, made an appointment for extraction. And got a quote around around $135. ( my friend went there did same thing for $135) After everything was done, I was told they charged me wrong, and asked me to go back pay $100 more. So I end up pay around $300 for just a small operation ( one tooth). I went there just because I think it is a good price, but end up pay much more. The treatment was good, I did not feel pain. Was in to see Dr. Tao last week for a deep cleaning and check-up. As always, the care is excellent. The Hygienist Helen is wonderful...really seems like she enjoys her job and one can tell she is quite experienced. Dr. Tao as always is top notch. I had seen a dentist a few days before related to a requirement I have with my service in the US Navy. That dentist completely missed the fact that a tooth I had a crown on many years ago from another dentist was having some issues. Dr. Tao spotted it right away and we've scheduled treatment in accordance with this finding. The office is top notch

- She has superb hands, comparable to a plastic or neurosurgeon. She was able to do a deep cleaning without anesthetics with minimal pain. Her movements are coordinated and her instruments move with extraordinary finesse

Literally the best dental experience I have ever had. The staff is very accommodating and go out of their way to explain everything in the process. From the Dentist, who really has a gentle touch and takes her time to explain everything along the way, to the Dental Assistant\Hygienist who craftily handles the cleanings and xrays as well as assisting the dentist, and the the wonderful lady in the front office handling the paperwork and assisting in all aspects of office business...I really cannot say enough about these folks. Definitely recommend Tao Dental.

Five stars for Dr. Yuan Tao!!! Great experience. She has a gentle touch, explains things in detail, and has high tech equipment that makes things quick and painless. My X-ray panel consisted of a machine that rotated around my head for about thirty seconds. She also uses the vibrating teeth cleaning tool (whatever it's called), AND they gave me an electric toothbrush on the way out.

Dr. Tao spent a lot of time cleaning my teeth and offering detailed explanations of my problems. She uses the best technology and her approach is gentle. She is also the first dentist to ever perform an oral cancer screening for me. Her office is very clean. Overall, she seems to have a passion for dental care.
