Southwest Mississippi Community College provides academic, technical, and continuing education, meeting the diverse needs of the population at a reasonable cost. SMCC promotes community services and promotes economic development through consultative and workforce training. We are located about one mile east of the town of Summit, Mississippi.
Financial Aid

Southwest MS Community College is a low-cost, locally controlled institution; therefore, students wishing to attend should not let financial reasons prevent them from doing so. Through one or a combination of aid, all students having need should be able to acquire the necessary funds.

Financial aid is the economic assistance available to help students meet the difference between what they can reasonably be expected to pay and what it will cost to go to college.This economic assistance may be in the form of scholarships, grants, work-study jobs, veteran's assistance, or a combination of any of these programs.

The first sentence of Southwest's mission statement says, "Southwest Mississippi Community College provides academic, career, and continuing education, meeting the diverse needs of the population at a reasonable cost." Our outstanding faculty are hugely responsible for accomplishing that part of our mission.

The Student Services Division seeks to enhance student growth and development through providing services and support for students on campus through various departments listed below. The entire team is committed to helping students have the most successful educational experience possible.

The division is composed of Campus Police, Student Housing, Financial Aid, Disability Support Services, Student Activities, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Academic Counseling.Whatever your needs, Southwest is here to provide the tools you need to be successful.
Foundation

The SMCC Foundation was reestablished in 2006 to act as a fund raising arm for Southwest Mississippi Community College. With today's economic downturn, the Foundation will play a crucial role in helping to keep the cost of tuition down by providing scholarships to students in need, by providing funding for campus improvements and by assisting with building projects.
