It's best to use a gentle exfoliation 24-48 hours before your first wax appointment. If your skin is dehydrated, it tends to hold onto the hair more which can result in breakage rather than complete removal from the hair from the root. Breakage can likely cause ingrown hairs as well. Dehydrated skin that has not been exfoliated prior to waxing can also leave you with red itchy skin.

Continue your daily skincare routine leading up to your appointment. If you use a retinol cream you should discontinue use 5-7 days prior to your lift/lamination treatment & for 5 days after so that your skin does not become dry with the chemical process. I always advise this with waxing as well, in order to keep the skins integrity in tact.
