Our District
Kern Community College District (KCCD) serves communities over 24,800 square miles in parts of Kern, Tulare, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino counties through the programs of Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso College and Porterville College. Governed by a locally elected Board of Trustees, the district's colleges offer programs and services that develop student potential and create opportunities for our citizens.

Biographies
The Kern Community College District service area is divided into seven segments for elected representation throughout the counties we serve. Each member of the KCCD Board of Trustees will represent a designated trustee area as defined during the redistricting process of 2020. Board Policy & Employee Contracts
Policies govern operations, instruction, business services, employment and administrative matters throughout our district including the activities of Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso Community College and Porterville College.
Beginning in Fall 2015, with the assistance of The Community College League of California, the Kern Community College District embarked on a major project to update its board policies and administrative procedures and align them with changes in laws, regulations and accreditation standards.As board policies are adopted by the board of trustees and administrative procedures are developed, they will be posted on the District's website.

Community Education
Community education in the Kern Community College District provides a broad spectrum of short-term, not-for-credit, fee-based courses designed to teach a skill, grow a hobby, or fulfill a desire for learning. Community education courses provide local residents of Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso Community College and Porterville College the opportunity to meet new friends and learn something new in a welcoming environment.
Economic Workforce Development
Economic and Workforce Development provides leadership and coordination for many exceptional programs offered at Kern Community College District(KCCD). KCCD's many career and technical programs prepare students to seek entry-level employment and technical skills upgrading for those currently employed.
