Unhelpful office staff, deceptive billing. The website claims to take a wide range of insurances and to call for specifics. When one does, they refuse to tell one which plans of any specific company (there are not hundreds, incidentally, just a handful in each company in Illinois), they will not tell you those plans.
SO, do not expect to be surprised when your plan is not accepted by the practice. It is easier to change pediatricians than deal with this bureaucracy.

I can't say enough positive things about this practice and especially Dr. Blegen! He is patient, takes the time to answer all of our questions and is an all around fantastic doctor. Their office is also extremely well managed - this is the only doctors office where I haven't had to wait for a long time in the lobby to actually see a nurse or a doctor. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a pediatrician!

We found NWCP in 2016 after moving to Chicago with a 4 year old and one on the way. When I visited different practices this one just gave a completely different vibe. They do not run their practice like factory where they want to see max number of patients per day...they are part of your parenting team and you feel as if the well-being of their patients is the most important thing to them. And while we see primarily two different physicians, we have seen just about every physician and NP at NWCP and love them all. Have been w. NWCP since 2014 with my first born! Couldn't be happier with their "service", hours (offering convenient sick child walk in 7 DAYS a week)!, and of course, superb staff and docs and nurses!. Being in the medical field myself, I am familiar with the challenges these days of being a healthcare provider, and because how NWCP treats me, I always want to do better when I'm at work! The Northwestern Children's Practice is a great office with great doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and staff. They are always courteous and friendly. They offer great options for urgent matters including walk-in hours 7 days a week! When my children were babies I used them quite often. The nurses are very responsive for calls about medical questions, providing referrals or completing camp/school forms. I have two children and have been patients here for over 12 years.
