I have successfully taught beginners of all ages as well as experienced players seeking to take the next step in their playing. I offer guitar lessons in Annandale from my conveniently located studio. My Annandale based guitar lessons are centrally located close to 495 exits at Gallows Rd and Little River Turnpike and offers ample free parking.

During the almost 20 years that I have been teaching guitar, the majority of my students have been beginners. My guitar studio is conveniently located in Annandale, VA. I have gained much experience and insight into how to most effectively teach these students and have just recently finished a new and comprehensive instruction book, So You Want to Play Guitar?
Intermediate Advanced guitar lessons

Mostly, we break it down to rhythm and lead. It is important to become a proficient rhythm guitarist before focusing on lead. Often what happens is that when students improve, many want to start learning to play lead. There's nothing wrong with learning some scales and riffs at this point, but sometimes students focus more on lead at this point and their rhythm suffers.

It's what they want to do and many have the luxury of available time to work on their skills and enjoy the music they are making. I enjoy teaching seniors the guitar in my Annandale studio and have made it a very positive experience for my students. I don't believe in wasting student's time with teaching things that they have no interest in.
Haven’t Played in Awhile

Some adults decide that they want to learn guitar for the first time. Many others who contact me have played guitar at some point in their life, stopped for a variety of reasons like family, job, etc., and want to pick it up and start taking lessons again. These students are not beginners but may have forgotten some or much of what they learned 10, 20, or 30 years ago.
