Custom molded orthotics will relieve pain in your feet, back, knees, legs and heels, and improve comfort and performance. Keep your legs, knees, pelvis, back and body properly aligned. Absorb the pounding of day-to-day walking, standing, working, carrying heavy loads, and sports stress. Relieve the pain of Plantar Fasciitis and other foot problems.
Provide support for fallen arches and control pronation (where your ankle rolls too far inward). To sell more shoes, manufacturers design them with standard insoles to accommodate as many people as possible. These insoles don't provide the support your feet need to function correctly and keep your body in proper alignment.

About FootLab
Report
Experienced custom foot support experts for over thirty years in the St. Paul - Minneapolis metro area. FootLab grew from our decade's long work with skiers. The human foot is simply not designed to function properly in an inflexible ski boot at 30, 40 or even 50mph. The loads that the foot is subjected to under those circumstances are tremendous.

In terms of traditional health insurance, the short answer is typically no, health insurance does not cover orthotics unless you're a diabetic patient and that process is different from the process we use here at the FootLab.If you have any other questions don't hesitate to call us at 651-429-333 and have a great day!.

Custom Orthotics Fabrication Process
Report
The FootLab Orthotic - our process for custom made orthotics for St Paul / Minneapolis, MN area clients. In the first two cases, the impressions are sent to a lab where plaster is poured into the foam box or plaster cast to make a plaster mold of the foot. In the case of a digital image, the image is emailed to a lab where a mold of the foot is machined from molding material.
Our Service Area

Other orthotics providers may require multiple visits to get your custom orthotics or insoles made. A first appointment to get a mold made of your feet, then they send it to an offsite lab which can take weeks to fabricate your orthotics and then you need to schedule a second visit for a final fitting.
What Is A Certified Pedorthist
Report
The answer to that is no. We are not podiatrists. A podiatrist is a medical physician, we are certified pedorthists (Cpeds). A certified pedorthist scope of practice is basically from the ankle bone down. We're trained in the 26 bones and 33 joints that are part of the human foot. When we build an orthotic, we're extremely focused on what happens as the foot goes through the walking stride, or what we call the gait cycle.
