We are fortunate to have wonderful and talented teachers who are extremely enthusiastic, and very dedicated. All our staff members are highly trained; holding college degrees in various areas such as early childhood, elementary education, music and psychology.

The Demarest Cooperative Nursery School was established in 1965. We are housed in the educational wing of the United Methodist Church located at 109 Hardenburgh Ave in Demarest, N.J. We are a cooperative nursery school which gives parents a voice in the decision making of our school policies as well as the opportunity to participate in their child's first school experience.

The Demarest Cooperative Nursery School views every child as a unique individual who learns at his or her own pace. We acknowledge that every child has strengths, interests, needs and learning styles that are different from others.

We encourage the children to share stories or events and talk about the calendar, weather, and their jobs for the day. We end morning meeting by introducing all the various center activities set up around the classroom for the children to choose. The Co-op offers supplemental programs throughout the school year that are at no additional cost.
